“I used do all eras from the early years to Las Vegas Elvis,” Tirrito said. “Now that I’m older I can’t do young Elvis. I do the ’68 comeback special. I still look young enough to pull it off. That’s as early as I go.”

Tirrito inherited his love for Elvis from his dad, who was a “tremendous Elvis fan."

“We were very close. He was my best friend. He passed away 10 years ago,” he said. “I was with him all the time instead of hanging out with other kids. My dad sort of resembled Elvis with the hair and the sideburns, he loved him that much.”

Tonight (Thursday) at Stony Creek, Tirrito will spin karaoke tracks and sing Elvis songs by request. He’s leaving his jumpsuits at home, although he does a full Elvis show replete with the same fringed and rhinestone jumpsuits Elvis wore in concert made from the original patterns.

The most often requested Presley song?

“’Suspicious Minds,’” Tirrito said. “Few people also know that Elvis was an accomplished pianist. He could play like Beethoven. He only knew five basic chords on the guitar and couldn’t read music. The piano was his instrument.”

Tirrito’s TCB Karaoke night goes from 8 to 10 p.m. tonight (Thursday) in the Stony Creek Clubhouse. Visit  Joe “Elvis” Tirrito's website for information about bookings and highlights from recent shows.

Stony Creek Golf and Banquet Complex is located at 5930 W. 103rd St., off of Central Avenue in Oak Lawn.
