Spartans Beat Rams at Paint the Gym Purple

Oak Lawn Community High School will host its Relay for Life for the 12th year in a row!  Relay for Life is an organization dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research.  This year’s Relay for Life will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2014.  Per Relay tradition, the faculty, staff and students painted the gym purple on February 7, 2014, by wearing purple T-shirts during the 7:00 p.m. varsity basketball game.  Relay for Life coordinator Thaddeus Zuzga said, “On behalf of the Relay For Life Committee we would like to thank everyone who participated in the event on Friday, February 7th.  Not only was it a great basketball game, which Oak Lawn won by defending a last second effort by Reavis, but we successfully fundraised over $1,500.   These funds will be used to cover all of the extracurricular activities at this year’s Relay For Life Event on Saturday, May 17, 2014.  It isn’t too late to register teams or participants for the event.  We hope to see you there."
