Funeral Arrangements Detailed for Eliza Grace Hicks, 21

Young Oak Lawn woman fought courageous battle against renal cancer.


The visitation and funeral for Eliza Grace Hicks will take place Tuesday and Wednesday. The young Oak Lawn woman passed away at age 21 after a courageous battle against renal cancer.

Ms. Hicks was born on March 30, 1993. She died on May 16. She was the beloved daughter of Rosemarie (nee Fox) and Gary T. Hicks; cherished sister of Nathan, Anita and Olivia Hicks; and dear granddaughter of Marilyn (nee Mc Glade) and the late Patrick J. Fox.

She was loved dearly by her Uncle Robbie, Aunt Peggy, Marilyn and Gregory Fox,Uncle Steve, Aunt Anita, Stephen, Ian, Colin and Graham Friel, Uncle P.J., Aunt Wendy, Maddie and Molly Fox.

Ms. Hicks was a true friend to Ashley, Amanda, Cassie, Kat and many others, including the girls at Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority.

“We have lost our beautiful Eliza but she will forever be in the hearts of our family,” her obituary read. “Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.”

Visitation will take place from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn.

There will be a funeral Wednesday at 9 .a.m. from Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home,to St. Gerald Church, 9310 S. 55th Court, Oak Lawn, for Mass at 10 a.m.

Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
