Oak Lawn Senior Craft Class

The Oak Lawn Senior Center Arts and Crafts class would like to thanks everyone for their donations and they continue to welcome any leftover craft materials as donations. The seniors make sure to use all the donations that they receive whether they re purpose it into a different craft or give it to someone else that may need it.

Mary Kos would like to thank all the women who participate in the class and also the participants who make things from their own homes and drop them off at the senior center for the Cancer Center.

For the month of August, the class will be making more Seat belt Pads for cancer patients. The Cancer Center has already received some samples so the seniors are just waiting to hear some feedback on how great the item is and if any adjustments need to be made before making more of them. Mary would also like to make a fun craft! Instead of a sock monkey, she would like to make Sock Dolls for the children at the Hope Cancer Center.

All the Chemo Scarves that were made in July were made by the generous donations of fabric that the Senior Center received. The seniors plan on making more Chemo Scarves once they get more knits that they need in order to make the skull caps and bands. They also plan on making blankets for wheel chair bound patients with the fleece donations that they have received.

These seniors are putting a smile on someone’s face one art craft at a time.
