OL Mayor say seniors are getting 'screwed' by politics - Oak Lawn Reporter 5/15/14

OL Mayor Sandra Bury says seniors are getting screwed by politics and she should know - because she's leading the politics and the politicians that are doing the screwing!! Originally, when our illustrious ex-mayor Dave Heilmann sold the property to Wintrust in secret and BEFORE any variances could be heard, Wintrust - owners of the soon-to-be Oak Lawn Trust and Savings Bank, was going to lease part of their monstrous building back to the Village to house the OL Senior Center. What happened to THAT plan? No one knows. Now Deetjen (with Bury's full knowledge and agreement) is trying to pawn off the 'problem' of OL Senior Center. First, they pawned it off on the OL Family Services Department. Now they are trying to pawn the seniors off on the OL Park District. Bury should suck it up and admit that she has no clue about how to run Village government. She's letting Deetjen handle way too much of what is going on in the Village to the extreme detriment of the residents and Village of Oak Lawn. Deetjen should stop trying to pawn off the seniors and the senior center to any Village Department he can try to strong arm, and come up with a plan that does not include slight of hand property transfers. I applaud the OL Park District for standing up to Deetjen and telling him 'no deal'. Deetjen needs to go - he is bad news for the residents of Oak Lawn.
