All That and a Bag of Chips: Richards Vending Machine Targeted

Custodian reported burglary to police after seeing someone flee the high school.

Oak Lawn police responded to a burglary at Richards High School, 10601 S. Central Ave., around 5:20 p.m. on June 10.

A custodian called 911 after he saw a youth in his late teens inside the building when no students were supposed to be inside the school. The custodian told police he believed the youth fled through the main gym.

Police said a vending machine in the hall outside the gym had been broken into. The cops didn’t see any pry marks, but there were coins inside the machine. Some chips also may have been taken.
