Another Report Possible in Oak Lawn Doctor’s Sex Case

A Cook County judge scheduled a hearing to see if a hospital will release a report taken from an alleged victim in a sex case.

An alleged victim of a former doctor charged with sexually abusing two women was interviewed at an Oak Lawn hospital, but a report of what she had to say may not make it into court.

The attorney for former Advocate Christ Medical Center physician Rajat Prakash said during a Tuesday morning hearing at the Bridgeview courthouse that the hospital could object to releasing the report.

The attorney, Nicholas J. Faklis, said the hospital may cite one of a number of confidentiality issues.

Cook County Judge Colleen Hyland said it was "a little premature" to assume the hospital will object to releasing a transcript of the interview. Judge Hyland scheduled a July 12 hearing to further explore the issue.

Prakash, 48, first caught a battery case when he was charged in February 2012  with fondling a 32-year-old woman with multiple sclerosis while she was in a semi-conscious state.

Then, in May, another woman came forward and told police Prakash forced her to touch his penis as they sat in his car and discussed her medical case in a Starbucks parking lot in Oak Lawn.

Prakash's medical license was suspended in May "due to immoral and unprofessional conduct arising out of the care and treatment of two female patients," according to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
