Body Pulled From Lake Michigan Identified As Oak Lawn Man

Body was in advanced state of decomposition, the Chicago Tribune reports. Not immediately known if man had been reported as a missing person.

A Chicago police marine unit pulled the body of an Oak Lawn man from the waters of Lake Michigan late Thursday afternoon, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The Cook County medical examiner has identified the body as that of Mark Warrian, 52, of the 10000 block of South Keating Avenue.

According to the Tribune, some people on a sailboat spotted the body in the water around 5 p.m. Thursday, about 300 feet offshore of Montrose Beach on the city's North Side.

The body was described as being in an advanced state of decomposition. An autopsy conducted Friday at the medical examiner's office was also inconclusive, pending further studies.

An email to the Oak Lawn Police Department asking if Warrian had been reported as a missing person was not immediately returned.
