Burbank Bomb Threat Proves To Be Hoax

Burbank police clear businesses after a bomb threat was phoned into a dollar store on Tuesday afternoon.

A bomb threat was phoned in to a dollar store in Burbank on Tuesday afternoon, forcing the evacuation of several nearby businesses.

Burbank Police responded to a report of bomb threat at Dollar General at 7100 W. 79th St. around 3:15 p.m.

As a precautionary measure, employees at the dollar store, and two adjacent fast food restaurants were evacuated.

The threat may have been placed by a disgruntled customer, some of the evacuees said.

The Cook County Bomb Squad assisted officers in searching the store.

Police later determined that the bomb threat was a hoax, according to the Burbank Police Department’s Facebook page.
