Car Purchased with Fake Credit Information Reported Stolen

Mancari's Chrysler in Oak Lawn says it's out over $30,000.

The manager of Mancari’s Chrysler, 4630 W. 95th St. in Oak Lawn, reported a 2011 Dodge Charger stolen after it had been purchased by a buyer using false credit information.

According to reports, the manager reported the car stolen on July 13 after numerous attempts were made to contact the buyer by phone and mail.

The buyer came into the car dealership on May 18 and put $2,000 down on the Charger and was temporarily approved for financing through his credit card company.

After a closer look at the buyer’s credit application, it was determined that all of the information was false, reports said. As result, the car dealership is out $30,041.

The manager said that Mancari would sign a complaint for car theft.

Police entered the car into the system as stolen.
