Chicago Police Planning Weekend Roadside Safety Check in Morgan Park

Police will be slowing traffic and pulling drivers off the streets of Morgan Park this weekend, May 30 and May 31.


The Chicago Police Department will conduct a Roadside Safety Check in the Morgan Park (22nd) District at 10456 S. Halsted St. The Roadside Safety Check will commence at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 30,  and end at 4 a.m. on Saturday, May 31.

During roadside safety checks, police officers slow down traffic, stop cars at regular intervals and watch for drivers who are distracted or show signs of alcohol impairment, as well as other violations

“This program is conducted year round to ensure drivers are operating their vehicles safely,” said Superintendent, Garry F. McCarthy. “This is part of an ongoing strategy to keep the city streets safe for Chicago’s residents and commuters.”
