Citited for Being Under the Influence in a Village Park and Giving Fake Name

Police say Alsip man offered to give them his real name in exchange for a cigarette after bringing him to police station.

An Alsip man was  was issued a citation for being under the influence of a narcotic in a public park after police said they found him laying on top of a picnic table in Memorial Park on July 2.

Franco D. Musto, 25, of the 3600 block of West Scott Drive in Alsip, was charged with obstructing justice after police said he game them a fake name.

Police said Musto told them his name and "Jason Manic.” When they asked what Musto was doing laying on the picnic table, Musto mumbled, “I’m waiting for someone.”

According the police reports, Musto appeared drowsy and his eyes were bloodshot. His answers didn’t make sense. Police also observed open sores on hands and arms consistent that they said was consistent with drug use.

Musto gave police his mother’s phone number in Alsip where he told police he was living. Police called the number but it was disconnected, reports said.

Police brought Musto to the Oak Lawn police station under suspicion of being under the influence. Musto was finger printed and his prints were sent to the FBI for identification, police said.

While waiting to hear back from the FBI, police said that Musto offered to tell them his real name in exchange for a cigarette.

Police ran Musto’s real name and date of birth through leads. Musto had a valid no-bond warrant from the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department.

Musto was charged with one count of obstructing justice in addition to the citation. He was held pending bond court.
