Cops Search for Residential Burglars

Oak Lawn police are distributing images from home security video showing two men suspected in a residential burglary on Monday. Car may have Indiana dealer plates.

are searching for three men who they believe are responsible for a residential burglary on Monday morning.

At approximately 10:49 a.m., police were dispatched to a single-family home on the 9500 block of South Normandy Avenue in response to an alarm call, where they found the front door had been forced open. Police searched the house but the burglars had left moments before they arrived.

The owner arrived home a short time later and reported some jewelry missing from a bedroom, police said.

A home security camera captured a 1999 or 2000 silver or gray 4-door Chevy Malibu entering the driveway. The car appeared to have an Indiana used dealer license plate on the rear bumper, according to a police press release.

Two black males got out of the car and entered the home; the driver never got out of the car and is not seen on the video.

The men were seen leaving the house through the same front door within a couple of minutes. Police believe the alarm may have caused them to leave without taking more items.

One of the men is described as six-feet-tall, wearing a baseball cap, gray and white striped shirt, and lighter colored jeans.

The second man was wearing a baseball cap, white T-shirt and dark jeans.

Oak Lawn police are asking residents to immediately report any suspicious cars or incidents in their neighborhood by calling 911.
