Chicago Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th) vowed to work with prosecutors to ensure an “aggressive prosecution” for what he described as Vorberg’s “extensive criminal history.”

If convicted, Vorberg faces up to 12 years in prison.

According to court records, Vorberg's arrest history begins in 2001 up until the present with charges for retail theft, disorderly conduct, battery, criminal damage to property, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence and contributing to the delinquency of a child, all of which were dismissed.

Court records show that Vorbeg satisfied six month's court supervision for reckless driving stemming from a 2004 charge, and similarly for retail theft in 2006.

In 2008, Vorberg was charged with distributing harmful materials to a minor, but the charges were dropped when the witness did not show up in court.

He was charged with three felony counts of child abduction and disorderly conduct when he he allegedly attempted to lure three 11-year-old girls into his SUV in October 2009.

When asked if she had seen her son in the area of 101st Street and Elm Circle Drive around in Oak Lawn around 7:41 a.m. on Oct. 5, 2009, his mother made a statement to police that "she hadn't seen her son for a long time," according to court records.

He was identified by his oldest victim and spent the next 18 months in Cook County Jail awaiting trial when he could not make the $280,000 bail.

Vorberg got a birthday present when his first trial ended in a hung jury the day after he turned 28 on Aug. 25, 2010. He was acquited of the charges by a jury in a re-trial the following March.

Less than a year out of jail, Vorberg was charged with battery and retail theft following a tussle with loss prevention officers at Tinley Park Menards in October 2011.

A leather tool pouch, candle, razor blades and MiracleGro fell out of his pockets when loss prevention officers took Vorberg down after he fell into a storage shed.

According to Tinley Park Police, Vorberg said he thought he might still be drunk from the night before.

Vorberg was on court supervision for the October 2011 offenses when he was arrested last week.

Cook County Sheriff's Police said Vorberg has since been released from the county jail and put on electronic monitoring.

Vorberg's next court appearance is at 9 a.m. May 23, Branch 38, Room:1
727 East 111th Street, room 1, Chicago.
