Dead Baby Found in Cooler at Chicago Ridge Recycling Center

Police are investigating the body of a baby boy discovered Wednesday morning among trash picked up by a recycling truck.

A dead infant was found inside a cooler at a Chicago Ridge recycling center Wednesday morning.

Crews sorting through the recycling materials found the baby boy in a blanket after opening the cooler, ABC7 Chicago reports. The load off the truck, which picks up trash in Wisconsin and northern Illinois, came to the Chicago Ridge center on Tuesday.

The body was found just after 4 a.m.

The Cook County medical examiner was called to the RCM Recycle Center, FOX Chicago reports. Chicago Ridge police are working with departments in Wisconsin and Waukegan as part of their investigation.
