Double Bust at Hooters

An off-duty police officer breaks up two separate dine-and-dash attempts at Hooters, cops say.

Diners were charged in two separate thefts after they attempted to run out of an Oak Lawn restaurant without paying their bill, reports said.

Oak Lawn police responded to a reported dine-and-dash at Hooters at 9159 S. Cicero Ave. around 10:21 April 30.

A table of three women and one man finished eating their meal and were talking amongst themselves when they all got up and left without paying their $91.30 tab, police said.

The employee was taken to the scene where she identified the four adults:

  • Chantel S. Daniels, 31, of Chicago
  • Lolita M. Platt, 39, of Chicago
  • Juanita M. Jefferson, 35, of Chicago
  • Brian M. George, 26, of Jacksonville, FL

All four were charged with theft of services. Their next court appearance is June 3.

The second dine-and-dash incident occurred the evening of April 21 around 9:50 a.m., police said.

An off-duty police officer advised that four adults had just fled the restaurant and were heading southbound on Keating Avenue from 92nd Street in a Chevy Tahoe.

Police saw a car matching the description of the fleeing vehicle and were able to stop it 91st Street and Cicero Avenue, reports said.

While speaking to the four men inside the car, police said a passenger identified as Nichols M. Alczewski, 19, of Chicago, blamed himself for not paying the bill.

Alczewski told police he owed his friend money so he told them he would pay the $90.45 bill, according to reports, but instead he and the others walked out.

A Hooters employee was brought to where the Tahoe had been stopped and identified the four passengers.

In addition to Alczweski, charged with theft of services are:

  • Matthew Coen, 18, of Chicago
  • Samuel E. Cabral, 18, of Chicago
  • Michael D. Doronzo, 18, of Tinley Park

The four are due in court on June 3.
