Driver Injured After Car Crashes Into Building, Police Say

Driver received non-life threatening injuries after car plowed into medical building on Thursday morning, cops say.

Oak Lawn police cited a 23-year-old Chicago man for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after the car he was driving crashed through the front window of a medical building on Thursday morning.

Police were dispatched to 4445 W. 95th St. around 8:49 a.m. after a report of a car accident at that address.

When police and fire units arrived on the scene, they found the front end of a 1997 Saturn inside the building’s east wall, police said in a news release.

Oak Lawn paramedics took the 23-year-old driver to Advocate Christ Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Police said there were no other passengers in the car and no other injuries at the scene.

The driver was driving eastbound at 95th Street at Kilbourn Avenue and could not explain how he lost control of the car, police said.
