A man driving erratically down Ridgeland Avenue approached the car of another driver’s car shouting and throwing gang signs after she called 911 to report him, reports said.
Oak Lawn police went to the 8700 block of South Ridgeland Avenue around 6:55 p.m. April 21 to meet with the 911 caller.
When the officer rolled up on the scene, a man identified as Fabian Villegas-Torres, 31, of Calumet City, was falling against the caller’s car and shouting at her, police said.
Police spoke to the caller who explained that she saw Villegas-Torres swerving in and out of traffic on Ridgeland Avenue, reports said. The caller told police she watched Villegas-Torres make a u-turn in traffic on Ridgeland and pull into the parking lot where there wasn’t a driveway entrance.
The caller pulled into the lot behind him and parked three spaces away, then called 911. She was on the phone with police when the man exited his car and walked up to her vehicle, police said.
Villegas-Torres started yelling at her and throwing up gang signs, reports said. The caller was afraid that he was going to do something to her car. She was about to pull away when she noticed police arriving at the scene.
Police escorted him away from the caller’s vehicle. Villegas-Torres was charged with disorderly conduct. His next court date is May 23 at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
