Fatso's Closes Temporarily After Break-in Following Monday's Storms
Fatso's was forced to close Monday after a burglary where windows were broken and cash was grabbed from the registers. They plan to open again Wednesday, according to a Facebook post.
A well-known hot dog and burger joint in Oak Lawn is recovering from an overnight burglary following Monday's storms.
Fatso's was ransacked after the restaurant lost power and closed down at about 10:15 p.m., according to Oak Law police. An unknown amount of cash was taken from the registers in the burglary. Windows at the 95th Street restaurant were found broken Tuesday morning.
The damage prevented Fatso's from opening, according to a post on the restaurant's Facebook page. They plan to open again on Wednesday after the windows are fixed.
Patch highlighted Fatso's in 2010 when it was featured on CLTV's "Chicago's Best."
Police said no other businesses in the area were burglarized. Thousands of Oak Lawn area residents were left in the dark Monday night after the short-lived storms hit the area.
