Fireworks Spark Village Citations

Oak Lawn men issued citations for disorderly conduct and keeping a disorderly house in two separate incidents involving fireworks, cops say.

Two residents were cited for violating village ordinances after complaints of loud parties and fireworks during the Independence Day weekend, reports said.

An Oak Lawn man was cited for disorderly conduct after he allegedly threatened to fetch his shotgun when he thought his neighbors were shooting off fireworks around 10:22 p.m. July 3.

According to police, Donovan said he realized that he should not have said that about his fun. When told by police that his neighbors thought he was serious, Donovan apologized and said he would “never do something like that,” reports said.

Police said that Donovan apologized again and told them he was going to bed and would not have anymore contact with his neighbors. He was told to call police next time as he has an issue of confronting his neighbors, reports said.

Donovan was issued a village citation for disorderly conduct.

Police went to a home in the 10100 block of South Kildaire Avenue on several occasions on July 4 because of a complaints of a loud party and fireworks being blown off, reports said.
