Oak Lawn police were conducting a premise check at the Midway Inn around 9:04 a.m. Nov. 28, when the officer noticed an unoccupied 2004 Dodge Durango with the engine running in the parking lot.

The officer spoke to an employee who said the car belonged to a guest at the motel. An ID left at the front desk identified the guest as Frederick McDonald, 36, of Rockford.

The Durango was registered to a woman also with a Rockford address. Police ran the plate and discovered an outstanding warrant for McDonald, with a warning that he may be armed and dangerous, reports said.

While waiting for a confirmation on the warrant, police said that McDonald got into the car and drove out of the parking lot. He was stopped a few moments later in the 9300 block of 49th Avenue.

Police were able to verify McDonald’s identity and took him into custody without incident, reports said.

Rockford Police confirmed the warrant was active and that McDonald was wanted on a felony charge for delivery of heroin with a bond of $250,000.

McDonald was being processed for the warrant as well as being charge with driving on a suspend license and without insurance, police said.

Police were holding McDonald for extradition to Rockford. McDonald was also given a Jan. 10 hearing date at Village Hall for the traffic offenses.

Re:Phinnigin. I agree!! Most establishments do not have hot water in the restrooms!!! However, whyRead More can't restaurants install hand sanitizer behind the counter? The Popeye's in Burbank has a hand sanitizer installed behind the counter, but honestly, the employees hardly ever use it, which is why, after a horrible experience at that location last July, I have not patronized ANY Popeye's since!!!
