Gunshots Fired Outside of Chuck E. Cheese's

No injuries have been reported but a car was hit in the parking lot. Man sitting inside the car said he dove under the steering wheel to avoid being hit.

About ten gunshots were reported fired in the parking lot outside of Chuck E. Cheese at 4301 W. 95th St in Oak Lawn around 8:45 p.m. Saturday.

A 21-year-old man attending his child’s birthday party at the fun emporium said he had just put a birthday cake inside his car that was parked on the east side of the restaurant facing Pulaski Road. He was sitting in the front driver’s seat when he heard gunshots.

“When I got and in and closed the door I heard three or four shots, boom, boom, boom,” he said. “I dived under the steering wheel and I heard five more shots when the cops came up. That’s why I didn’t get hit.”

The man said the bullets came through the car seats. He did not see the shooter or shooters, but said "they came up on me." He drove the car from the floor of the car back to the front of the restaurant.

No injuries have been reported.

Calls to the Oak Lawn Police Department were not immediately returned. An officer on the scene did confirm shots being fired outside Chuck E. Cheese.
