The Tribune has a boatload of reporters. Oak Lawn Patch has ... Lorraine. She knows the community, she does better in-depth stories than anyone else, and guess what, she needs sleep every now and then. Better story than the Tribune, too!

osp June 07, 2012 at 06:23 PM

They should remove TCF Banks from Jewel; this happens all of the time and eventually someone who is shopping is going to get hurt.

Or think its easy pickings
anthony June 07, 2012 at 06:58 PM
No offense Lorraine , But it would be nice if you had a liason so you can give the residents a heads up or some sort of scoop.

The Penny Saver did a better job covering news than TribLocal does now.

osp , really you need to get a life , leave the woman alone she was just doing her job and really there is no reason that you need to be so rude about it who cares what time anyone put the article up at least it is up for you to read right? i cant take people that have to post comments that are negitive about the persone writting them if you think that you can do a better job then apply for it and lets see how it goes for you and what kind of comments you would get about your stories please remember if you have nothing nice to say dont say anything at all didnt your mom teach you that

At the risk of sounding like a wannabee I would recommend cross/city police forces..Task force wrong word...something perm.. It seems that the location in regards to city lines plays a major part in selection of target

Would it have made any difference if it was reported earlier like the Trib?? Think not!! When is Jewel going to stop putting their customers in harm's way?? This TCF banks in food stores are always being robbed>>>Probably by people who have banked there and lost half their money to TCF fees on their accounts!!

Thanks Lorraine this is the first I heard of it.

I don't read other news websites, some of those sites are blocked at my job. Working at a financial institution, I HIGHLY appreciate getting the alerts in my email from Lorraine that go right to my phone! Thanks! Every time we hear about a robbery, we spread to word to keep our eyes and ears open. I appreciate what you do! People that like to post negative things are just plain ignorant. There are more important things in the world than posting these comments. Anyways, Lorraine, I love your updates! Keep 'em coming!

Everyone leave Lorraine alone. She does a marvelous job of getting the news to us. Anyone who thinks she doesn't can unsubscribe at any time and leave your negative comments to yourself. The world is full of negativity. About having a positive attitude and life will be better for everyone! Everybody smile today and do one nice thing for someone other than yourself! You will feel good! God Bless Us Everyone!

osp If you had gotten this story earlier, what exactly would you have done? Stop the robbery and Save the Day? LOL Take a hike. Lorraine's the best around!

Just a few quick observations: 1.This is the 2nd time (in my memory) that this TCF/Jewel location was robbed. 2. Three hours to investigate and report a story is not bad journalism. It's called fact finding. Q. If you do not have all the facts or in accurate facts, what are you reporting? A. RUMORS. Lorraine is our Larry Schreiner...sans the (unused) body bags in the truck. P.S. To people who know nothing about Larry Schriender that last comment was ROTFLMFAO comedy.
