Men Get Crabby Over Cost of Crab Legs

Two men were asked to leave an Oak Lawn bar after getting into a heated argument about a sale on crab legs, police said.

An intoxicated 50-year-old man went to the Oak Lawn Police Department to file a report about an argument he had with another man in a bar about a sale on crab legs at Jewel.

According to the report, the man got into a heated argument with a fellow patron at the St. James Place bar, 5305 W. 95th St., on Feb. 24. Police spoke to a female bartender, who said the man came to the bar around 7:15 p.m. and left approximately two hours later.

The bartender told police that the man and another patron had several cocktails and got into a heated argument about the sale on crab legs at Jewel. The man twice challenged the other patron to a fight, and the bartender told them both to leave, police said.

The bartender did not wish to file a complaint against the two men because they both left willingly. She asked them to leave only because they were disturbing and alarming other customers, police said.

The man told police he was at home for 45 minutes before coming to the police department. He wanted to ask police why the other guy would want to argue with him about the sale price of crab legs at Jewel.
