The driver admitted that he had a couple of nickel bags that later field-tested positive for cannabis in his pocket, police said. Police brought a trained drug-sniffing dog to search the car. The dog indicated the presence of cannabis, reports said.

Both passengers were released without incident. A check of the driver’s name indicated that he had an active warrant for possession of a controlled substance with a $50,000 bond.

The driver, Darryl Weekly, 22, of the 7000 block of South Wabash Street in Chicago, was charged with possession of cannabis and warrant service. Weekly is schedule to appear in court on June 24.
