Nude Man at Spa Charged With Public Indecency: Police

Man dropped towel and exposed himself to massage therapist after signing "no nudity" agreement, police said.

An Oak Lawn man was charged with public indecency when he insisted on being nude during a therapeutic massage at a local spa, reports said.

The licensed massage therapist told police that Essa H. Wasili, 31, came into the spa in the 8800 block of South Cicero Avenue for a 60-minute massage around 6 p.m. May 3.

After reading the spa rules to Wasili, which included no nudity, she had him sign an agreement stating that he understood the rules, police said.

Wasili reportedly entered the massage room wearing a towel. As the masseuse massaged his back, he began to turn over on the table, reports said.

She told him to remain lying on his stomach but he did not listen, the report claimed. Wasili allegedly took off the towel and exposed his penis. The masseuse covered him up with a towel and warned him that nudity was prohibited, police said.

According to the report, Wasili got up a second time, dropped the towel and exposed himself. He refused to cover up when asked, and stared smiling at the masseuse.

As she left the room to call police, Wasili followed her into the hallway naked, police said. When he heard her calling police, he went back into the massage room and shut the door, reports said.

He walked out of the room five minutes after officers arrived, who informed him that he was no longer welcome at the spa, police said. The masseuse wished to sign a complaint.

When police talked to Wasili, he allegedly told officers, “I don’t understand.” He was taken into custody and charged with public indecency.

Wasili, of the 10100 block of South Cook Avenue, has a court appearance on May 27 in Bridgeview.
