Oak Lawn DUI Arrests, Jan. 4-18

FRIDAY, JANUARY 18

• Javier Nunez, 44, of Chicago, was charged with DUI over .08. Police were dispatched to the intersection of Southwest Highway and Cicero Avenue for reports of a “reckless driver” around 12:10 a.m.  According to the report, witnesses said that Nunez almost struck multiple cars driving from the direction of Chicago and Burbank before entering Oak Lawn. Police said that Nunez showed signs of impairment while performing field sobriety tests and blew a .138 at the police station. He has a court date on Feb. 21.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 17

• Carl McKnight, 45, of Chicago, was charged with DUI, speeding and improper lane usage. McKnight was stopped in the 4000 block of 101st Street around 4:25 a.m. Police said that while he was being interviewed, McKnight said he would answer “south” to every question asked by police. Reports said he refused to take a Breathalyzer test. McKnight is to appear in court on March 11.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 16

• Gregory R. Shipp, 25, of Sauk Village, charged with DUI, DUI over .08 and improper lane usage. Police stopped Shipp near 109th Street and Cicero Avenue around 3:59 a.m. According to reports, he blew a .164 at the Oak Lawn police station.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 13

• Crystal J. Bloom, 32, of Oak Lawn, was charged with DUI, DUI over .08 and improper lane usage. Bloom was stopped at 95th Street and 52nd Avenue around 10:18 p.m. after police received a call of a “possible intoxicated driver.” Police said Bloom’s car went over the center road markings. Bloom blew a .150 at the Oak Lawn police station.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 11

• Edgar A. Aguilera, 26, of Chicago, was charged with DUI, speeding, illegal transportation of alcohol, no drivers license and use of a vehicle with illegal activities. Aguilera was stopped near 95th Street and McVicker Avenue in the Taco Bell parking lot around 1:15 a.m. Police said they found a partially consumed bottle of Hennessey behind the driver’s seat. Aguilera allegedly denied he’d been drinking. The officer said that Aguilera showed signs of impairment while performing field sobriety tests. Aguilera refused taking a Breathalyzer test, reports said. He’s due in for court on Feb. 28.
• Victor A. Davila, 28, of Alsip, was charged with DUI, no driver’s license, and failure to reduce speed. Davila was arrested during a crash investigation at 4:20 p.m. He twice refused medical treatment and to taking a Breathalyzer test. Police said Davila showed signs of impairment while performing field sobriety tests. Davila allegedly told police, “I’m a man, I can complete these tests.” He’s due in court on Feb. 14.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 4

• Deontae R. Sanders, 22, of Chicago, was charged with DUI, DUI over .08, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Sanders was allegedly involved in a traffic accident at 95th Street and Major Avenue around 10:57 p.m.  Police said the person whose car was struck had followed Sanders and blocked him into a dead end street on Franklin Avenue.  The driver said Sanders had swerved into his car, according to the report. Sanders allegedly told police he had a Margarita six hours before. Police said that Sanders failed field sobriety tests and blew a .164.
