Oak Lawn High Graduate Found Dead Sunday Near ISU Campus

Authorities say his body was found in a field early Sunday morning without hat, coat or gloves.

A young Oak Lawn man who attended Illinois State University was found dead early Sunday morning in Bloomington, IL, near the campus, according to the McLean County coroner.

Yusuf J. Ziada, 19, was found in a field at about 7:30 a.m. and was pronounced dead at 8:25 a.m., reports the Bloomington Pantagraph.

“There are no obvious signs of trauma to the decedent, and he was not dressed appropriately for the outdoor environment,” said Coroner Beth Kimmerling. Police are investigating.

Friends said Ziada, an Oak Lawn High School graduate and honor roll student, was a sophomore business major at ISU, reports Sun-Times Media.

“Mr. Ziada was a former member of the Illinois State Chapter of the Delta Chi fraternity, but was inactive with the chapter at the time of his death,” his former fraternity said in a statement Sunday. “We appreciate your consideration during this time as our members deal with the loss. Our thoughts go out to family and friends.”

A 20-year-old woman from north suburban Buffalo Grove also was found dead Saturday in another part of town but the deaths are not believed to be related.
