Police Blotter: Possible Gang Symbols on School Wall

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 1

Criminal Defacement

Someone using a black marker scrawled names and what possibly could be gang symbols on a wall at Columbus Manor School, 9700 Mayfield Ave.

Burglary from Auto, Criminal Damage

A laptop and a set of handtools were stolen from a 2003 Honda Civic parked in the 9500 block of Minnick Avecnue. Entry was gained by using a pry tool to force open the driver's side door. Estimated loss and damage were $3,000.

Burglary to Auto

A tool box was stolen from a GMC Carryall parked in the front of a house in the 9100 block of Tully Avenue. Entry was gained by punching out the passenger side door lock.

Retail Theft

Body wash valued at $114.96 was stolen by two men who walked into Walgreens, 4740 W. 95th St., put the items in a bag and fled the store.

JULY 30 - JULY 31

Van Burglarized

An iPod, camera and file box containing documents were stolen from a 2007 Chevy van parked in the 9200 block of Tully Avenue. Entry was gained by punching out the passenger side door lock.
