Police: Bandit Used Butcher Knife to Rob 7-Eleven

Oak Lawn cops are still looking for man who robbed the 7-Eleven on 95th Street on Friday.

Police said the man who at 6765 W. 95th St. on Friday used a butcher knife to hold up the store.

The robbery happened quickly, and Oak Lawn police were on the scene mere moments after it occurred.

The store employee said the bandit—a thin, white man—walked into the store around 3:15 a.m. and immediately went to the rear of the store. The employee said that seconds later, the man was standing next to her behind the counter.

The bandit showed the employee the butcher knife and said, “Give me the money from the cash register.” As the employee opened the cash drawer, the bandit reached in and grabbed about $50. He was last seen walking westbound on 95th Street, the same direction from which he approached the store, police said.

The 7-Eleven employee called 911 and police arrived on the scene at 3:20 a.m. The employee described the robber as having blond hair and blue eyes, and wearing a gray hoodie and a black scarf or mask over his face. Police said store surveillance video also showed the robber wearing jeans, black gloves and brown work boots.
