Patron Pushes, Spits At Bouncer

The bouncer at St. James Place, 5305 W. 95th St., got a shove and a face full of spit when he tried to remove a patron who police said was highly intoxicated. A 22-year-old man identified as James M. Bahr, of Alsip, arrived at the bar around 1:11 a.m., when the manager told the bouncer to ask Bahr to leave. When the bouncer told the man he had to go, Bahr shoved the bouncer and spit in his face. The bouncer and another patron both escorted Bahr from the bar. He was issued a village citation for battery and has a hearing at village hall on May 1.

Investigation Targeting Cashier Leads to Arrest

An employee under investigation for allegedly taking customers credit card applications and using their temporary credit cards was charged with felony theft. Loss Prevention officers at Target, 4120 W. 95th St., told police that Sharise Thomas, 21, of Chicago, had allegedly run up $830 in temporary credit card and stolen gift cards. Thomas drew attention after several customers called the store requesting information about their credit card applications. Police said Thomas took customers applications and used their temporary charge cards while they waited for their actual cards to arrive in the mail. On March 3, police said Thomas gave one of the temporary credit cards to a family member and allowed her relative to purchase two Visa gift cards valued at $150 each at her cash register. During her break on the same day, Thomas was seen meeting her family member on the sales floor and giving the relative five additional gift cards valued at $106 each. She went back to her cash register and scanned the same temporary charge card to purchase the five Visa gift cards, reports said. The total theft amounted to $830 for all seven cards. Police said Thomas gave a written statement prior to their arrival. Thomas appeared in court on April 7.
