SATURDAY, APRIL 23

City Nails Burglarized

Burglars busted the glass door at City Nails, 10634 S. Cicero Ave.,  sometime before 8:51 a.m., swiping a TV, laptop computer and $500 in tips at the nail stations. 

Police responded to a report of a shattered glass door at the business. The owner arrived later and confirmed the burglary.

The burglars entered through the front door and left through the back door, police said. While inside, the burglars rummaged through the nail stations, dismounted the TV from the wall and rifled through the office.

Business neighbors told police that on April 21, they reported two males trying to sell spray cleaner to businesses on the blocks. The men entered each business and business owners described the two as “casing businesses.”

THURSDAY, APRIL 21

Woman Wanted for Questioning

Police want to talk to a woman who tried to cash a check at TCF Bank, 9801 S. Cicero Ave., and then went ballistic when she was refused, reports said.

According to bank employees, the woman came into the bank about 1 p.m. and wanted to cash a check. Employees made a copy of the check and determined that the woman did not have an account with the bank.

After telling the woman it was bank policy not to cash checks for non-account holders, the woman got very upset. She began yelling and swearing at employees in front of other customers.

Bank employees told police the woman yelled, “Ya’ll better watch yourselves when you close.”

The woman approached an employee who is pregnant and began yelling in her face until another employee separated the two.

Employees said the woman left the bank in an unknown direction. She had left an Oak Lawn address, but police were unable to locate her at her home.

Temporary Plates AWOL

The general manager of Ed Napleton Honda, 5800 W. 95th St., reported to police that the Illinois Secretary of State contacted him about missing temporary license plates that had not been issued by the dealership. According to the general manager, 38 temporary plates are missing.
