Oak Lawn police reports, March 9-12.

SATURDAY, MARCH 12

Disturbance at Denny’s

Police were summoned to the Denny’s at 9217 S. Cicero Ave. around 2:21 a.m. for help in ejecting some rowdy patrons who were being loud and disturbing other customers, reports said. As police were removing people from the restaurant, a fight broke out between two customers. Police said that Brian L. Morton approached Dandre V. Smith and the two men got into each other’s face and started yelling. Morton pushed Smith back and the two started to wrestle and fight inside the restaurant, according to police. Police were able to get the men under control and placed both in custody. Morton said the fight was over a ring he believed Smith had taken. Morton later told police that Smith did not have the ring, reports said. Upon searching Smith, police found a small baggy that tested positive for marijuana. The manager signed complaints against both men for disorderly conduct. Smith was also charged with possession of cannabis. Both have an April 25 court date at Bridgeview.
