Police were directly behind Castanon when they say he accelerated his Harley Davidson and stood on the seat of the bike for approximately three blocks.

Castanon, of the 9000 block of South Cicero Avenue, was taken to the Oak Lawn police station because he did not have proof of insurance, police said.

Police found the initials “MFFM” on the Harley’s exhaust pipe. Police said that's a common slogan used by the Mongol bike gang. Castanon would not tell police what the initials were on his motorcycle, police said.

Castanon is to appear in court in Bridgeview on May 24.

Clarification: Police said they spotted and stopped the motorcyclist near 106th Place and Cicero Avenue, not the 4700 block of South Cicero as originally reported. We thank the reader who pointed this out to us.

Man Charged for Selling Cars Without Business License

A man who described himself as a used-car dealer was cited by police for operating a business without a license when police found a Jimmy GMC truck with no plates parked in front of the man’s house, reports said.

Police responded to a complaint of a truck with no plates parked on the 9200 block of South Tully Avenue, around 6:52 p.m. on March 24. After running the truck’s plate and VIN, it was found that the track had been reported stolen, police said.

Jason V. Hill, 33, told police he bought the truck the week before at an auction. Hill had the key to the truck and said he sold it to someone in Wisconsin. Police said Hill also showed them paperwork indicating he had purchased the truck at an auction.

Police said Hill admitted to selling cars out of his home. Hill was warned not to sell cars from his residence and further action would be taken if he did it again.

Hill, of the 9200 block of South Tulley Avenue, was cited for operating a business without a license and having expired registration on the truck. Police from Calumet City, where the truck had been reported stolen, asked to have the truck impounded.
