Patient Threatens Hospital Staff

Oak Lawn Police showed up twice at Advocate Christ Medical Center at 4440 W. 95th St. because of a disruptive patient, reports said. Officers went to the hospital at 3:15 a.m. when a patient, Anthony L. Taylor, 42, of Chicago, who had been put in restraints, threatened the nurse caring for him, police said. The nurse wanted to report the incident as a matter of record. Police were back an hour later at 4:20 a.m., when hospital staff reported that Taylor was still acting belligerent and threatening staff, according to the report. The officer said that Taylor threatened multiple times to dislocate his shoulder or break his arm, to get out of his restraints. Taylor allegedly threatened to come back to the hospital and “get the staff.” He was issued a village citation for assault and has a hearing July 17 at village hall.

Man Charged with Probation Tazed

After receiving information that a possible probation violator was in the area, police and Cook County probation officers went to the 9900 block of South Cicero Avenue to take the man into custody, police said. As officers approached Gregory J. Thomas, 21, of Oak Lawn, he immediately began running in an attempt to escape, reports said. Police were able to catch up with Thomas when he fell to the ground. Officers tried to grab each one of Thomas’s arms, he allegedly began flexing his arms and pulling them under his body. When Thomas did not comply with orders to put his hands behind his back, police used a Taser on him, after which he complied with verbal commands, reports said. He was held pending a bond hearing on June 20.
