POLICE BLOTTER: Man Swipes Condoms, Herbal Male Enhancement, Pool Destroyed

Oak Lawn police reports June 27 through July 1.

Pool Hoppers Destroy Pool

An above ground swimming pool was destroyed on the 9100 block of South Ridgeland Avenue sometime before 7:38 p.m. The homeowner believes that uninvited guests were in the pool, jumping off the sides and causing part of the pool wall to cave in and crack. Police said the pool will cost $5,000 to replace.

Theft of Motor Parts

A catalytic converter was removed from a 2000 Jeep parked in a driveway on the 9200 block of South Tulley Avenue. Police said that the homeowner heard a strange noise in front of her house between 2 and 3 a.m. When she looked out the window, she observed a man standing near her driveway, but took no action. The next say around 10:40 p.m., her husband started their car and noticed it was making a loud noise. They later discovered that the catalytic converter was stolen.

‘Love Serenade’

Police were called to Kmart at 4101 W. 95th St. around 4:07 p.m. for a reported theft. When they arrived, Reginald S. Smith, 54, of Chicago, was in the custody of a loss prevention officer. Smith was spotted allegedly concealing two boxes of a natural male enhancement herbal supplement, a box of condoms and some cologne in his pants. He then proceeded out of the store without paying for the merchandise, reports said. Smith was issued a village citation for retail theft and has a hearing at village hall on July 17.

Just try and imagine what his date would have been like if he didn't get caught!
