Cops Say Man Waved ‘Large Knife’

George Kuzur, 36, of the 7700 block of South Merrrimac Avenue in Burbank, was charged with disorderly conduct after being accused by another driver of waving a “large knife” during a road rage altercation, police said.

The other driver said he was cut off by a white cargo van coming out of a shopping center lot in the 5100 block of West 95th Street, reports said.

Police said the other driver admitted to honking his horn and flipping his middle finger at Kuzar.

Following the gesture, Kuzur allegedly waved a large knife and was seen writing down the driver’s license plate number by the other driver.

Police found Kuzur stopped at 99th Street and Central Avenue. The other driver positively identified Kuzur’s van, reports said.

Kuzur denied waving a knife and writing down the other driver’s plate number police said. A large pocketknife was found inside Kuzur’s van, as well as a clipboard with the other driver’s plate number, reports said.

The Burbank man was citied for disorderly conduct and is due to appear in court on March 19 at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

‘I Am the Boxer’

Police responded to the area of 91st Street and Cicero Avenue to reports of a man going in and out of traffic hitting cars around 1:11 p.m. When they arrived, a man identified as James D. Humay, 47, of Riverside, was in the middle of the intersection, reports said. Police said Humay was extremely intoxicated and couldn’t communicate with officers. According to the report, the person who called 911 told police that Humay crossed the street and stopped in the middle of Cicero, taking a boxing stance. When the traffic light changed, Humay crossed in front of the caller’s car and allegedly punched the front end. Humay then walked around to the front passenger side and kissed the side mirror, police said. Humay has a court appearance March 11 in Bridgeview.
