Trophy Maker Says He Was Stiffed by League

The owner of G&L Trophies and Gifts, 4038 W. 111th St., reported to police that a youth baseball league in the city still owes him $2,257 for trophies that were ordered in March. The trophy order was completed and delivered, the report said. Because of the owner’s past relationship with the league, payment was not due for 30 days. When the owner did not receive any payments, he spoke with the head of the league, the report said. An arrangement for monthly payments was made after the head of the league told the business owner he didn’t have the money, but after five certified letters were sent to various board members of the league, no payments were received and the business owner filed a report for theft, police said.
