POLICE BLOTTER: Tulip Plucking Children, Dog Attack

Tulip Plucking Children


A resident reported that some children picked tulips from his yard in the 5000 block of West Lamb Drive sometime before 3:12 p.m.. The neighbor believed the alleged act of delinquency was the work of children that live down the street. Officers observed the plucked tulips lying on the sidewalk in front of the resident’s home. Police went to go talk to the kids’ parents, and cited them for allegedly leaving their garbage cans out on a non-collection day. According to the report, garbage day was the Tuesday before.

Dog At Large


A 50-year-old woman reported that she was out walking her Yorkie in the 9600 block of South Kolmar when a large mixed-breed dog came bounding out of his residence and attacked her dog around 11:36 a.m. The woman told police that she and her husband rushed their dog to the vet where the pup was undergoing surgery to stitch up a large laceration on its neck at the time of the report. The couple said that the owners of the dog that attacked theirs’ was very helpful in separating the dogs and apologetic. The Yorkie weighed 20 pounds and the owners wanted the incident documented. Police went to speak to the big dog’s owners but no one was home.
