Police: Caller Threatened Denny’s Because Server Forgot Sour Cream and Bacon

Customer's experience at Oak Lawn Denny's was less than a 'grand slam.'

The manager of the Denny’s Restaurant at 9217 S. Cicero Ave. reported to that a customer threatened staff over the telephone because her carryout order was missing some items.

According to the manger, a female customer walked in and requested a carryout order, and after her order was completed, she left. A short while later, the manager told police, the customer called the restaurant and said the server had forgotten “the sour cream and bacon.”

The customer proceeded to say that her “six-foot-two husband” was going to go back to the restaurant and “kill somebody.”

Police said the restaurant was extremely busy and no one could provide a good description of the customer. Staff described the customer as being around 30 years old.

Officers called the 312 area code number from the caller ID, but it went straight to voicemail. Cops left a message for the customer to call them back.

The manager said he would sign a complaint if the woman comes back.
