Police Search Area for Missing Crestwood Man - UPDATED

James Sylvester IV said to be distraught over relationship. Family and friends fear he may harm himself, Crestwood Police say.

Crestwood Police are searching for a man who has been missing since Wednesday and left information on his computer indicating he may want to harm himself, the Chicago Tribune reported.

James Sylvester IV is 21 years old. Police say Sylvester was distraught over a relationship and was last heard from Thursday morning when he texted and ex-girlfriend and friends saying, "Tell everyone I'm sorry."

Sylvester is described as white, 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds with brown hair, blue eyes and a reddish-brown beard, police said. He was last seen wearing a brown Carhartt jacket and black gym shoes.

He drives a beige-gold 2002 Honda Civic with Illinois license plate N253967.

Aerial searches are now underway for Sylvester with much of the search focused on the Crestwood, Palos Heights and Orland Park areas, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The report says there has been no activity on either his credit cards or cell phone since he went messing.
