Prosecutors Investigating Evidence of Other Crimes in Doctor Molestation Case
Judge tells doctor's attorney that prosecutors can review his request to look at records related to possible new charges.
Prosecutors who say an filed a motion Friday, Sept. 6 to admit evidence of other crimes against him.
Prosecutors told Judge Colleen Ann Hyland there is another misdemeanor charge pending against Rajat Prakash, 47, who is a former Advocate Christ Medical Center physician.
The doctor appeared in a tan suit next to his lawyer, Nicholas J. Faklis, in a Bridgeview courtroom. Faklis asked to review records related to the new possible charges and Hyland said prosecutors can review his request and respond to it.

Prakash faces a misdemeanor battery charge that he fondled a 32-year-old woman with multiple sclerosis while she was in a semi-conscious state. Another woman has accused Prakash of forcing her to touch his penis as they sat in his car discussing her medical case in a Starbucks parking lot in Oak Lawn.
The physician was charged with felony criminal sexual abuse by force on May 4, following a months-long investigation by Oak Lawn Police. Civil cases are also said to be pending against Prakash.

According to state records, Prakash's is only allowed to practice medicine with a chaperone present during encounters with patients pending the outcome of criminal proceedings.
Faklis said has no comment except, "My comment has always been he's not guilty of anything. He's not guilty."
Prakash is set to be back in court on Oct. 16.
