Saturday Night's All Right for Fighting

Fracas starts in Goal Post over racist comment, police say.

Three men who had been ejected from the Goal Post Pub, 5207 W. 95th St., for fighting were arrested for disorderly conduct when they returned to flip off the bartender and other patrons in the wee morning hours of Feb. 26, Oak Lawn Police said.

Justin T. Wise, 26, of Naperville; Lemuel S. Dehan, 28, of Lisle; and Peter Garcia, 25, of Downers Grove, were charged with disorderly conduct.

Police said the dustup began when Dehan took offense to a “racist comment” made by another patron as he and his pals were outside the Goal Post having a smoke. Although the comment was not directed toward them, Dehan took exception.

Dehan followed the unknown patron back into the bar and told him he didn’t appreciate the comment, according to police reports.

One of the bartenders, a 51-year-old woman, told police that Dehan started a fight inside the bar over a racist comment. After other patrons broke up the fight, the bartender asked Dehan and his friends to leave.

Reports said Dehan became even more upset and attempted to go after the bartender and other patrons, who stopped him from leaving. Dehan struggled the entire time while being removed from the bar.

The bartender did not wish to sign complaints on any of the men, but wanted them to leave and not return. Police told the men not to come back.

Approximately 20 minutes later, the bartender called police again. She reported that the three men were banging on the doors and screaming, police said.

Police returned to the Goal Post and saw all three men with heads pressed against the glass door, reports said. The bartender told police the men were banging on the door and flipping off the bartenders.

This time she signed complaints against all three men, who are to appear in court on April 12.
