The FBI is searching for a man who robbed a bank located inside an Oak Lawn supermarket on Tuesday morning.
At approximately 10:21 a.m., a male black in his mid-20s walked up to the TCF Bank branch located inside the Jewel Food Store at 8801 S. Ridgeland Avenue.
Oak Lawn police said the robber passed a note to a bank employee demanding money in what is being described as a “non-takeover” bank robbery. No weapon was displayed.
The robber fled the bank on foot, police said.
Information on the FBI-run BanditTrackerChicago website did not indicate if money was turned over to the bank robber.
The suspect is described as skinny, about 5-foot-10-inches and 160 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie with an unknown design, and black baseball cap with the letter “F” on it.
There is no indication that this is the same suspect who robbed a bank in Mt. Greenwood on Monday afternoon, an FBI spokeswoman said.
The TCF branch at the Jewel on Ridgeland was also robbed in June 2012.
Anyone with information about the suspect or robbery is asked to contact the FBI at 312-421-6700.
