Sex Offender Relocates to Oak Lawn, Poisoned Dog: Police Blotter

New Sex Offender in Town

A 60-year-old man registered as a sex offender with the Oak Lawn Police Department. Harold G. Brace, Jr., recently moved to Oak Lawn from Chicago. Police said that it was Brace’s first time registering in Oak Lawn, in compliance with the Illinois’ Sex Offender Act. Brace completed the required sex offender’s form and had a valid ID showing his new address at 10108 S. Cicero Ave. According to state records, Brace was 35, and his victim was 9, at the time of the incident.

Ex-Boyfriend Admits Poisoning Dog

A woman filed a delayed report stating that her boyfriend called her the evening of July 31, admitting that he had poisoned her dog with rat poison in June, reports said.

The dog, a female American Staffordshire, became sick on June 12, the woman told police.

She took to the dog to the vets at Animal Welfare League. The dog could not be saved and died the same day. Now, her boyfriend was threatening to poison her other dog.

Police said that the woman wanted to document the incident, and said she would press charges if the other dog were harmed.
