Tavern's Liquor License Revoked
State tells George's Lounge that it cannot serve or sell liquor until license is renewed, police said.
The Illinois Department of Revenue shut down an Oak Lawn tavern after it failed to renew its state liquor license, reports said.
Special agents along with shut down George’s Lounge at 5407 W. 95th St. on March 14.
Police said that a special agent came to station and requested their assistance in serving the owner, John Cerniuk, 31, with an order of revocation from the Illinois Liquor Control Commission.

According to the Illinois Department of Revenue, the state liquor license for Geroge's Lounge expired on Jan. 31. Information shows that the license has been revoked.
That same afternoon, police and the special agent advised Cerniuk that the bar was not allowed to serve liquor until the state license was renewed.

Cerniuk said he understood and would take care of the situation. Police provided Cerniuk with a copy of the revocation order, reports said.
Police also confiscated the bar’s Oak Lawn liquor license. The village and state liquor licenses, and revocation order were turned over to local police.
The bar was closed on Monday evening. Calls to George's Lounge went to a fax machine.
