Oak Lawn Police Chief Michael Murray spoke with reporters after the Monday bond hearing for Oak Lawn woman accused of murdering her 6-month-old granddaughter.

Murray said the counseling would be available to police officers who were the first to arrive on the scene.

He also thanked the Cook County State's Attorney's Office and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force for their assistance in the investigation.

Alfreda Giedrojc, who turns 62 on Wednesday, is being held without bail at the Cook County Jail. Her next court appearance is Oct. 28.
