Dr. Seuss Parody Unleashes Far Right's Rage Against Obama Administration

Dr. Truth’s alter-ego, Loren Spivack, claims attendees are buying his parody of the Obama Administration to send to liberal friends and relatives. Based on the famous children’s book The Cat In the Hat, Spivack describes it as a conservative morality play.

“It’s the hottest ,” Spivack said, manning his table there Saturday morning.

Starring in the role of the Cat In the Hat is Barack Obama because “much like the ‘Cat In the Hat’ he wrecks everything that he touches,” Spivack said, classifying Obama a “left wing fanatic.”

As Dr. Truth, Spivack unleashes the far right’s rage against what they perceive as the freedom-crushing, socialist ideals of the Obama Administration.

Dedicated to conservative news commentator Glenn Beck and his fans, The New Democrat tells the life story of the “new cat in town whom the press find disarming, also recklessly arrogant and convinced he's so charming.”

“It may be the first history of the Obama Administration ever written,” the self-proclaimed Free Market Warrior said. “It’s certainly the first one in rhyme.”

Like the famous children’s book, the cat is aided and abetted by a pair of impish anarchists, Thing One and Thing Two. In Dr. Truth’s version of the truth, they’re U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“Here’s Obama coddling dictators,” Spivack said, flipping through the book’s pages, looking a little like Dennis the Menace in a red-striped t-shirt.

The liberal left considers Spivack a menace of sorts, who’ve decried the illustrations in The New Democrat as “tea bagger racism” for their less-than-cat-like caricatures of the president, at least according to the hype on conservative blog Beez' Buzz.

In addition to The New Democrat, Spivack was selling assorted Impeach Obama-items, along with VHS copies of Disney’s Song of the South.

A few years ago, Spivack claimed he was kicked out of a North Carolina shopping mall when the management company would not extend the lease on his Free Market kiosk. Spivack, who sold t-shirts with such inscriptions as “al Qaeda’s Best Days: 9/11/01 and 11/4/08” alleged that he was being discriminated against for “political reasons.”

On his website promoting his book, which misspells the president’s first name as “Barak,” Spivack condemns Theodore Geisel—the original Dr. Seuss—for injecting his left-wing ideas in his children’s books.

Spivack divides his time between his home in Amherst, Mass., and the road, traveling around the country promoting his book and teaching free market economics to Tea Party groups.

Asked what message he has for President Obama, Dr. Truth said, “retire. Ex-presidents make a lot of money.”
