Trustee Streit Argues to Keep Adjudication Attorneys at Village Board Meeting

Trustee Bob Streit (Dist. 3) claimed that adjudication attorneys Russ Miller and Joe Pecko were being unfairly replaced because of Tom Phelan's "hit list" during the June 25 Oak Lawn Village Board meeting.

After Streit's speech on Miller and Pecko's work for the village, Trustee Alex Olejniczak (Dist. 2) called for a vote.

When Village Clerk Jane Quinlan began calling the vote, Trustee Terry Vorderer (Dist. 4) said he had a question. Streit said he thought he still had the floor, so Streit continued his remarks before Olejniczak called a second point of order.

Vorderer gave his point of view on the issue, stating that as long as this measure would save taxpayers $24,000 per year, he was happy to vote in favor of consolidating the position from three attorneys to one. The vote passed 3-2, with trustees Streit and Carol M. Quinlan (Dist. 5) casting the dissenting votes.
