Dan Lipinski ‘Paid Back’ for Saving Local Company With a NO BID Defense Department CONTRACT Bailout in 2011

Blatant political conflict of interest, Hoist Liftruck, Bedford Park, President Marty Flaska pays back to Dan Lipinski for saving his company with NO BID Defense Department CONTRACT bailout in 2011...

It’s very patriotic to scream to the American people the words “Buy American”.  There’s a certain logic that you would think would follow, "I’ll buy from an American company."

Despite what our President says, our country IS filled with thousands and thousands of business success stories, of INDIVIDUALS who BUILT THEIR OWN businesses, without the help of government.  Competition is the name of the game.  If you can’t remain competitive in price and quality, then your business model is a tough sell even to the ordinary buyer of goods.  I won't subsidize it!

If it weren’t for exports and imports, where would our country be?  Companies here on US soil SELL to private businesses and manufacturers in other countries.  They buy from businesses here based on competitive price, quality and the fact that we CAN deliver that product when they want it.  1/3 of the sales and shipments that come out of the manufacturing company I work for are exports.  That’s 1/3 of our profitability that comes from someone in another country wanting to buy a product from someone in the USA.  Could you imagine what our present US economy would look like if other governments in other countries told their businesses to only buy from companies in their own country?  What remains from the 2008 – 2009 US economic crash might not have survived either.

Several years ago, the federal government took over the banking, finance and credit industry, then the automotive industry with justified bailouts of GM (notice how many municipalities bought GM vehicles and fleets after that) that brought this failing manufacturer back from the brink of disaster, and yes, we can’t forget about the most recent attempt to take over the healthcare industry.  Government intervention and meddling in private sector business world needs to be stopped.  It costs us more and reduces true competition.

Yet, I find blatant and gross conflicts of interest in our modern political climate very interesting - Hoist Liftruck in Bedford Park President Marty Flaska pays back to Dan Lipinski in 2012 for saving his company with a NO BID CONTRACT with the Defense Department in 2011, taken out of the hands of a competitively priced South Korean company - if a company here ISN'T COMPETITIVE with price, we shouldn't subsidize their business by awarding higher price contracts and PAY MORE just because they're HERE, from a government that already can't pay it's bills from years of frivolous spending creating deeper indebtedness. Lipinski's BUY AMERICAN ACT sounds good, but only ushers business to his friends and donors apparently.

It's bragged about in his official campaign literature from the primary. The same piece also DOES NOT have any "PAID FOR BY..." disclosure contained, several union logos and newspaper endorsements appear on it, but fails to mention WHO PAID FOR IT, which is a CLEAR FEC VIOLATION, and was sent out to most of the district. Very expensive to print and mail to 400,000 voters. Did this get reported if possibly Hoist or someone else paid for it? Can you prove who printed it for Dan? I'll bet you can't.
